Udaipur's Lake Pichola Water Level Reaches Five-Year High
Lake Pichola in Udaipur has reached its highest water level in five years following good monsoon rainfall and effective water conservation measures.
The iconic lake, which forms the backdrop for the famous Lake Palace Hotel, is now nearly 90% full, delighting both residents and tourists visiting the City of Lakes.
Tourism officials are optimistic that the improved lake levels will boost visitor numbers during the upcoming tourist season. Boat operators have reported increased bookings for sunset cruises.
Environmental experts attribute the recovery to a combination of above-average rainfall and successful efforts to prevent encroachment and pollution in the lake’s catchment area.
The Municipal Corporation has announced plans to further beautify the lakefront promenade and improve lighting around the historic ghats.
